Step-by-step
Follow these steps to complete the task.
Open the Merge PDF tool
Go to FileGrip’s Merge PDF page. Review the supported file type, individual upload limit, and any total upload restrictions displayed in the interface.
Select the PDF files
Choose Select PDFs to browse your device, or drag and drop several PDF files into the upload area. FileGrip checks each file before adding it to the workspace.
Review the uploaded file list
Confirm that every required PDF appears in the workspace. Review each file name, size, and displayed position before arranging the sequence.
Add any missing PDFs
Use Add More when another document should be included. Additional PDFs are added to the existing list and can be moved into the correct position.
Remove incorrect or duplicate files
Select the remove control on a file card when the wrong PDF, an unnecessary file, or a duplicate was added.
Arrange the document order
Drag the PDF cards into the required sequence. The first listed PDF appears first in the merged document, followed by each remaining file in order.
Use mobile ordering controls when available
On smaller screens, use the Up and Down controls when dragging files is difficult. These controls provide a more reliable touch-friendly ordering method.
Review the complete sequence
Read the displayed order from beginning to end. Check that covers, forms, appendices, signatures, attachments, and supporting documents are all positioned correctly.
Start the merge
Select Merge PDFs. FileGrip securely uploads the selected documents and creates a backend processing job.
Keep the page open during upload
Do not close or refresh the page while PDF bytes are still uploading from your browser. Interrupting the upload may prevent the job from being created.
Wait while FileGrip combines the files
The processing panel may display uploading, queued, processing, and finalizing stages while the PDFs are joined into one result.
Use email continuation when offered
For longer active jobs, FileGrip may display an option to enter an email address so you can be notified when processing finishes, depending on the current platform configuration.
Download the merged PDF
When the job is complete, select Download Merged PDF and save the finished document to your device.
Inspect the downloaded document
Open the merged PDF and verify file order, page order, page count, readability, orientation, bookmarks, forms, links, and overall document completeness.

Will scanned text become searchable?

Once a backend job has been created, queued processing may continue independently and may be restored using the saved job reference.
Why are the original file cards missing after refreshing?
Browser File objects cannot survive a full refresh. FileGrip can restore the backend job state, but not the local file list or previews.
Can I receive an email when merging finishes?
For longer active jobs, FileGrip may display an email continuation option. Availability depends on the current backend configuration.
How long does merging take?
Processing time depends on the number of PDFs, total file size, page count, encryption, document complexity, upload speed, and current worker activity.
Is my merged result stored permanently?
FileGrip is designed around temporary processing. Uploaded files and generated outputs expire according to the current deletion policy.
Are my PDF files used to train AI models?
