When to use Rotate PDF
This tool is useful in situations like these:
- Scanned pages appear sideways after being added to a PDF.
- A mobile scan was saved in the wrong orientation.
- Some pages are upside down while the rest of the document is correct.
- A landscape page needs to be turned for easier reading.
- A PDF was exported with inconsistent page directions.
- You need to correct page orientation before merging, printing, signing, or sharing the document.
Step-by-step
Follow these steps to complete the task.
Open Rotate PDF
Open the Rotate PDF tool from the FileGrip tools page or Help Center.
Upload your PDF
Select the PDF from your device or drag and drop it into the upload area. FileGrip validates the file type and upload-size limit before opening the rotation workspace.
Review the document pages
Use the available page previews to identify which pages need to be rotated. Confirm that the document and page order are correct before making changes.
Select the required pages
Choose one page, several pages, a page range, or all pages depending on the controls available in the Rotate PDF workspace.
Choose a rotation direction
Rotate pages 90 degrees left, 90 degrees right, or 180 degrees. Apply the direction that makes the selected pages readable.
Check the planned result
Review the selected pages and rotation settings. Make sure pages that are already correct are not included accidentally.
Process the PDF
Select Rotate PDF. Keep the page open while the browser uploads the file. After the backend creates the job, FileGrip applies the selected rotation settings.
Download the corrected PDF
When processing is complete, download the rotated PDF and open it to verify every changed page before sharing or deleting the original.
Helpful tips
Small checks that can improve your result.
- Use 90 degrees right for pages that need a clockwise turn.
- Use 90 degrees left for pages that need a counter-clockwise turn.
- Use 180 degrees for upside-down pages.
- Check every page before selecting all pages because mixed-orientation documents may need different settings.
- Rotate the PDF before signing or adding watermarks so later elements appear in the correct direction.
- Keep the original file until you have reviewed the complete rotated result.
- If page order is also incorrect, use Reorder PDF Pages after fixing orientation.
Your file is handled temporarily
FileGrip temporarily receives and processes files solely to perform the operation you select. Files are not sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.

Helpful answers about Rotate PDF.
Can I rotate only one page?
Yes. Select the individual page number when the tool provides page selection or page-range controls.
Can I rotate multiple pages together?
Yes. You can select several pages or enter a page range and apply the same rotation direction to them.
Can different pages use different rotations?
This depends on the current Rotate PDF interface. When only one rotation setting can be applied per job, process separate page groups or run the tool more than once.
Will rotating the PDF change page order?
No. Rotation changes page orientation only. Use Reorder PDF Pages when the document sequence also needs correction.
Will the original PDF be modified?
No. FileGrip creates a new rotated PDF. The original file on your device remains unchanged.
Does rotation reduce PDF quality?
Normal PDF page rotation usually changes orientation metadata without re-rendering the page, so visual quality should remain unchanged. Results can vary with unusual or damaged PDFs.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Protected PDFs may need to be unlocked first. Use Unlock PDF only when you know the password and have permission to modify the document.
Are uploaded PDFs stored permanently?
FileGrip is designed for temporary processing. Download the result before it expires and review the current privacy and file-deletion policies for complete retention information.
